Transmission (TX) Ltd is proud to have been involved with both “In the Night Garden” and “Land Girls”, providing the Equipment, Technical Support. Crew and Facilities for both HD productions. In addition, TX applied their knowledge and expertise, gained from 20 years broadcast experience to add quality and aid creativity on both productions.
In the Night Garden won Best Pre-School Programme for Ragdoll Productions, Produced / Directed by Anne Wood / Andy Davenport. In the Night Garden was judged to represent “an outstanding production effort by a British company”. For Ragdoll and TX, In the Night Garden was a highly complex project, which was brought together by Lee Philips, Ragdolls Technical Guru. Challenges included, live chroma-keying in an outside environment, 5 km of fibre optic cable, Fly By Wire camera systems, RF links for live playback to puppeteers and all to be recorded in full HD.
Land Girls, a BBC Birmingham Production, was transmitted last Autumn on BBC One. Comments from the judges include; “Land Girls took daytime programming to a new level.” TX supplied a two camera HD Unit with a specially modified Camera Vehicle which allowed Directors, Producers and supporting Crew full monitoring facilities. The HD Unit was designed with a multi-function HD camera loom system giving maximum flexibility and camera control. This also ensures minimum amount of time is lost during recording and between set ups. To shoot a drama is challenging, to shoot a period drama and on a budget … now that’s a challenge. TX had the pleasure to work alongside some excellent Script Writers, Production Team and Supporting Crew. Altogether bring quality to the day time audience.
