360 Experience Sport Relief – Malaria – Life on the Front Line

TX helped create a 360 experience to better explain the problems Comic Relief are trying to solve.

Providing multiple 360 cameras and camera crew to shoot a mosquito-eye view of Malaria in Uganda for VR specialist production company, VR City.

Voiced by David Tennant, this video explores Life on the Front Line, with the world’s deadliest creature, the Mosquito, and how Malaria can be life-threatening for these communities.

Mantis 360 Support System Now Available for Hire

Transmission TX are now owners of Mantis 360 Support systems to aid in the capture of 360° footage.

The Mantis, described as ‘The ultimate stabilised remote dolly for 360 camera arrays’, is used on uneven surfaces, awkward angles and rough terrain to help capture stabilised footage for ease of editing in post.

With a Kenyon gyro, 2-axis gimbal and 4 wheel-drive, as well as being remotely controllable from speeds of 0.1mph; the Mantis is a great aid to capturing stabilised footage, be it tracking shots, eye-level shooting, etc.

Please contact us for hire prices and availability.

360 Degrees Video for Hamlet!

360 Degrees Video? He’s behind you! No, it’s not the Christmas pantomime that came early…

SphereVision and Transmission TX have workied together on a VR City Production, to capture William Shakespeare’s Hamlet in 360-degrees for a fresh take on theatre.

Using a complex 360 camera system (a combination of both Odyssey and Omni camera systems), along with a Laser Scanner. The captured footage then is augmented and enhanced by the use of overlaying the 3D model, converted from a point cloud (using Pointfuse’s rapid point cloud to vector software).

Once in post, this allows the use of depth maps to aid the editors to add some pretty cool effects. Enhancing what is already an interesting take on a standard theatre production!

Check back soon for a link to the finished piece. We love these innovative ways of utilising 360 degrees video, it’s going to look great.

A great project to work on!

Multicamera Live 4K 360 Video of London New Year’s Fireworks

From 4 positions around the London Eye, TX brought in the New Year with live streaming 4K 360 degree streaming of the midnight fireworks.

TX ran over two miles of fibre-optic cables around central London. Also sending video across wireless RF links to our customised 360-degree-capable OB truck.

As part of the end-to-end solution for The BBC, we vision-mixed the incoming video. This was then encoded to stream live to YouTube for viewing via an App or on the BBC website.

TX Films Multi-Camera Advert for TalkTalk

Over the festive period, Transmission TX were tasked with installing a multi-camera rig and assisting with the capture and shooting of footage, for a series of adverts by TalkTalk.

Using a range of unmanned Fixed rig and PTZ remote cameras, these were installed in a family home, including remote hotheads and 360 degree camera rigs.

Rigged in a relatively short period, as covertly as possible, to avoid interaction with the family. This allowed us to capture raw, ‘fly on the wall’ footage of your average, everyday family in the UK living their day-to-day lives, capturing the spirit of TalkTalk’s message ‘This stuff matters’.

Walkers Sandwich Man

Sandwich shop customers got more than they bargained for when confronted with a choice of crisp sandwiches by Gary Lineker and Paddy McGuinness.
