Henry VIII’s Excesses revealed in Stunning 360 Degrees

A 360 degree video recording system from SphereVision used to create a 360 film. Educational yet entertaining, exploring the wanton excesses of Henry VIII’s Hampton Court Palace.

Created as part of the Historic Royal Palaces Tudors on Tour event. The 360-degree interactive cinema experience explores the working kitchens, wine cellar and fine decorations of Hampton Court.

Invited to gather evidence of the King’s excessive spending for the treasury, the audience becomes part of the production.

Created by VR specialists Transmission TX, using a SphereVision 360 degree recording and production system.

The fifteen-minute film was first debuted at Tatton Park in Cheshire, where nearly 4,000 children immersed themselves in the digital 360-degree pop-up cinema from Igloo Vision on the first day alone.

Tudors on Tour, including the 360 degree video SphereVision film, will return to the Tower of London from 23-26 July 2015.

TX Produces 360° Interactive DVD for Welsh Highland Railway

A 360 degree interactive video recording system used to document an award-winning heritage railway and popular tourist attraction in Wales.

The recording system operated by specialist production company TX, used 360-degree spherical cameras mounted on a railway locomotive. This train then travelled the 25-mile course of the Welsh Highland Railway.

During three days of filming, multiple views of the journey (from Porthmadog to Caernarfon) were captured and processed. The resulting interactive DVD is now available to purchase from Amazon or as a download as an app.

“The Welsh Highland Railway offered an unrivalled opportunity to demonstrate the capability of the SphereVision 360 video recording and playback solution,” commented Tracey Manasseh a specialist 360 producer. “With some of the most beautiful sites in the UK the multifaceted experience allows the user to view the journey from every possible aspect.

From riding the footplate to sitting trackside, the interactive DVD allows you jump to any party of the journey. You can zoom in and out, pan around captured scenes as if you were there.”

Schiphol Baggage 360

Each year Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport handles over 48 million items of baggage through one of the world’s most advanced baggage systems, along over 30 kms of transport. Most passengers take to the complex systems below for granted. To help showcase the incredible technology underground, TX built a custom suitcase with a reinforced 360 degree camera to record a VR journey through the tunnels.

Challenges included filming through X-Ray machines, robotic arms and pinball like buffers. TX provided wireless remote control and monitoring, together with failover autonomous operation as the cart disappeared into the depths of the system.
