Shooting 360 video on wirecam, drones, in rivers and fires, TX are again out with VR City to create a 360 interactive experience VR tour of the Laphroaig Distillery on Islay. The film tells the story of Laphroaig Whisky from the rivers and peat fields to the glass. Slàinte!

360 Degrees Video? He’s behind you! No, it’s not the Christmas pantomime that came early…
SphereVision and Transmission TX have workied together on a VR City Production, to capture William Shakespeare’s Hamlet in 360-degrees for a fresh take on theatre.
Using a complex 360 camera system (a combination of both Odyssey and Omni camera systems), along with a Laser Scanner. The captured footage then is augmented and enhanced by the use of overlaying the 3D model, converted from a point cloud (using Pointfuse’s rapid point cloud to vector software).
Once in post, this allows the use of depth maps to aid the editors to add some pretty cool effects. Enhancing what is already an interesting take on a standard theatre production!

Point Grey (recently acquired by FLIR) have announced the Ladybug 5+, some of the key features include:
– Frame rate of up to 60fps
– Sony Pregius global shutter CMOS sensor (for improved image quality).
– Low noise (noticeably in the blacks) and HDR
– Operating temperatures of -20 up to 50°c

From 4 positions around the London Eye, TX brought in the New Year with live streaming 4K 360 degree streaming of the midnight fireworks.
TX ran over two miles of fibre-optic cables around central London. Also sending video across wireless RF links to our customised 360-degree-capable OB truck.
As part of the end-to-end solution for The BBC, we vision-mixed the incoming video. This was then encoded to stream live to YouTube for viewing via an App or on the BBC website.

Over the festive period, Transmission TX were tasked with installing a multi-camera rig and assisting with the capture and shooting of footage, for a series of adverts by TalkTalk.
Using a range of unmanned Fixed rig and PTZ remote cameras, these were installed in a family home, including remote hotheads and 360 degree camera rigs.
Rigged in a relatively short period, as covertly as possible, to avoid interaction with the family. This allowed us to capture raw, ‘fly on the wall’ footage of your average, everyday family in the UK living their day-to-day lives, capturing the spirit of TalkTalk’s message ‘This stuff matters’.

Sandwich shop customers got more than they bargained for when confronted with a choice of crisp sandwiches by Gary Lineker and Paddy McGuinness. TX provided five covert remote-controlled PTZ cameras with links to a remote vehicle for control and monitoring by our crisp-loving team, to create this tv commercial.

The new PUMA ad, Play Loud is out. Produced by Outsider, it features shots which were filmed by Transmission TX, using a range of Specialist Camera Systems including SphereVision’s 360° recording system.
Captured shots of footballs flying past the camera were translated into 2D footage for the linear advert.

Transmission TX have continued their desire to being at the forefront of understanding, capturing and presenting 360° and Virtual Reality technologies. Along with SphereVision, TX have continued to invest in new and upcoming technology, on both the side of capturing via new and innovative camera systems, a range of 360° camera heads and options, as well as new and innovative ways to present and immerse yourself in 360°/VR footage, be it from Samsung VR Headset, HTC Vive, 360° sound capture and more.
TX shoot the RX. Simultaneously shooting on 12 360 cameras, TX cover all aspects of the live theatre experience Lexus created as part of the new RX launch. Working for production company VR City, TX operated cameras in key locations to capture the journey as guests are guided by Jude Law through three bespoke car rigs, chased by paparazzi and cross the red carpet to star as themselves in a press conference.
On Saturday December 5th, Boiler Room (in conjunction with Converse Rubber Tracks) live streamed the Converse Rubber Tracks Takeover from the 100 Club in London using the SphereVision live streaming Live360 System.
Provided by TX360 Facilities and distributed through 3xscreen, viewers were able to watch headline act ‘Run the Jewels’, in 360-degrees, putting on a free gig as part of the Converse Rubber Tracks Takeover.
Support on the night came from Converse Rubber Tracks studio alumni Alxndr London, Skinny Macho and Livin’ Proof DJs.
